WTM Responsible Tourism is a programme of interviews, panels and debates now at four trade shows in the World Travel Market (WTM) Portfolio, including WTM London, Arabian Travel Market, WTM Latin America and WTM Africa.
WTM acts as an international forum to drive the responsible tourism agenda forward, through seminars at several of the portfolio’s travel trade exhibitions, World Responsible Tourism Day, and working with responsible tourism experts to provide insight through the WTM blog.
WTM Responsible Tourism aims to unite travel companies, organisations and individuals interested in spreading sustainable practices and ethical methods within the travel industry. This website provides year-round content highlighting the work communities take part in around the world, to help build a solid, sustainable future for travel and tourism.
The ICRT is a community of Responsible Tourism Practitioners in business, government, NGOs, conservation and heritage. The ICRT is for Responsible Tourism. Each group works to promote the principles of the Cape Town Declaration on Responsible Tourism in Destinations, we work in originating markets and destinations around the world, to harness tourism to make “better places for people to live in and for people to visit”. We work with governments, tour operators and accommodation providers to realise the aspirations of the Responsible Tourism Movement in which we have played a major part since 1997. The ICRT is funded by the Responsible Tourism Partnership which shares its aspirations.
WTM Africa is a vibrant, culturally diverse, must attend business-to-business travel and tourism event, with a diverse range of destinations and industry sectors to African and International travel professionals.
Mirrored on flagship events WTM in London and Arabian Travel Market in Dubai – WTM Africa delivers a proven mix of hosted buyers, media, pre-scheduled appointments, on-site networking, evening functions and invited travel trade visitors and in 2016 saw a 23% increase in visitors compared to 2015. The only inbound and outbound show of its kind on the African continent, WTM Africa provides a platform to launch new products, increase brand exposure, debate industry issues, and gather market intelligence; to generate new sales leads, strengthen existing relationships and most importantly, close new business.
The Regional Tourism Organisation of Southern Africa (RETOSA) is a Southern African Development Community (SADC) body responsible for the Region’s tourism destination marketing across 14 Southern African countries: Angola, Botswana, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
RETOSA aims to increase and reinforce awareness of SADC as a desirable vibrant tourist destination, with the purpose to increase tourism arrivals, tourism revenue and investments into the region as well as improved regional competitiveness thus promoting socio-economic development.
To achieve this, RETOSA works in close cooperation with the member states’ ministries of tourism, national tourism organisations, the private sector, media partners and international cooperating partners. These 14 countries offer unique opportunities for business or leisure trips.
